Destination : Dibrugarh-Mokokchung-Tuophema- Kohima -Dimapur – Imphal-Aizawl

Day 01: Arrive Dibrugarh

Meet and assist and transfer to Hotel Little Palace or similar. Evening walk in the local bazaar.

Day 02: Dibrugarh – Mokokchung (150 km / 5 hours)

Drive to Mokokchung and check into Tourist Lodge. Afternoon visit Ao Naga tribal villages

Day 03: Mokokchung – Tuophema (115 km / 4 hours)

Drive to Tuophema. Check into Village resort built in the Angami Naga style with amenities for a comfortable stay. Walk in the old village, visit the small but interesting museum. Evening enjoy a traditional dance performance by the local people.

Day 04: Tuophema

Morning drive short distance to a village inhabited by the Rengma Naga tribe. You can have a look at the traditional weaving in some households and also buy Naga shawls or stoles, if interested, direct from the villagers. Afternoon at Tuophema.

Day 05: Tuophema – Kohima (45 km / 1.30 hours)

Transfer to Kohima, PM visit the Second World War memorial and the very interesting local market. Overnight at the Japfu hotel.

Day 06: Kohima

Morning visit Khonoma village, 20 km one way. Afternoon drive short distance to the southern Angami tribal village of Kigwema.

Day 07: Kohima – Dimapur – Imphal (2 hours drive / 40 minutes flight)

Transfer to Dimapur airport for flight to Imphal in the state of Manipur. Received at the airport and driven to Hotel Classic or similar. Afternoon visit the Ima or ‘all mothers’ market in the city. This is where you see Manipuri women selling raditional wares

sitting on raised platforms.

Day 08: Imphal

Visit the famous floating lake of Loktak – the weeds in the lake entwine themselves to form large round floating islands strong enough to withstand the weight of humans and animals! Go over to the nearby Keibul Lamjao national park well known for the rare ‘Sangai’ or the dancing deer of Manipur.

Day 09: Imphal

Morning visit the popular Shree Govindaji Temple and WW II cemeteries of both the allied and Japanese forces. PM we have organized a dance performance – Manipur is famous for its Vaishnavite culture and dance forms.

Day 10: Imphal – Aizawl (45 min flight)

Transfer to airport for flight to Aizawl in Mizoram. Meet and assist and transfer to Hotel Ritz. Afternoon at the Bara Bazar.

Day 11: Aizawl

Drive to Reik village a short distance from Aizawl. Spend the day walking along its pathways meeting village folk. Return to Aizawl in the afternoon.

Day 12: Aizawl

Transfer to airport for flight to Kolkata.
